Mallory Bolton Jefferis, age 84 of Chatfield, passed away at the Chosen Valley Care Center on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Mallory was born on March 5, 1940, the son of Robert and Ruth (Bolton) Jefferis in Chatfield. He graduated from Chatfield High School in 1958. Mallory entered the United States Army following graduation and served for 20 years in Vietnam, Korea, Germany and various US bases. He retired on May 31, 1979. Mallory and Christel Molter were married in Germany in March of 1964. They welcomed daughter Margaret Isabel, the light of their lives. Margie passed away in 2013. Following his retirement from the Army, he attended college and acquired an associate’s degree. He worked in manufacturing for Synthes USA as a safety director and supervisor from 1981-2006. Mallory was a proud member of the VFW and American Legion, and was an amateur (Ham) radio volunteer in Colorado Springs for 23 years.
Mallory is survived by his twin sister Marlene (Glenn) Hisey of Chatfield, sisters Roberta Copeman of Chatfield, Judith Stites of Chatfield, brother Michael Jefferis of Minneapolis, 14 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Christel Jefferis (2018) and his daughter Margaret Jefferis (2013), his sister Mary Ellen Barth, brother C. Thomas Jefferis, sister-in-law Stella Jefferis, and brothers-in-law Lewis Barth and Rodney Copeman.
A celebration of Mallory’s life will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church of Chatfield. There will be one hour of visitation at the church prior to services.
Burial will take place in Chatfield City Cemetery in the spring.
