Malcolm Gordon Becker, 89, of Winona, passed away peacefully with family by his side, Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Sugar Loaf Assisted Living. He was born on December 8, 1927 in Beaver, MN to Gordon and Hazel (Hessig) Becker. Malcolm grew up in Plainview and met the love of his life, Patricia (Maynard) at a local dance. They were married on June 5, 1948 and spent 68 years together before she passed away on May 17, 2016. Mal and Pat lived in Winona where he worked for the Winona Fire Department as a Fire Inspector, physical therapy assistant at St. Anne and custodian at KWNO radio. He loved flower gardening and had the greenest thumb. Mal and Pat were avid golfers and wintered in Arizona just so they could golf more. Mal is survived by his son, Rich (Karen) BearBecker; daughter-in-law, Laurie Becker; grandchildren, Ginger Joy, Tracey (Tim) Tiffin, Ryan (Maria) Becker, and Jenny (Kevin) Suber; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Chuck Becker and Elaine Holtz, and special friend, Jeanne Lentz. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; son, William; and brothers, Alton and Marvin. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 8, 2017 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview, led by Funeral Celebrant Dianne Rislow. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m., until the time of service. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery.
