Lynne Eide

On April 2, 2025, we said goodbye to an amazing wife, mother, sister, grandma, and friend — Lynne Louise Eide.

Lynne was born in Winona, Minnesota on September 2, 1957, to Robert and Maxine Boehmke. She grew up with her four siblings, living throughout southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin before settling in Rushford at age eleven. Lynne graduated from Rushford High School, where she made lifelong friends. She married her high school sweetheart, Allen Eide, in January 1975. Together they raised three children — Jessie, Kari, and Adam — and had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Lynne had many passions in life, but her greatest love was her family and friends. Flowers came in a close second, and gardening was her therapy. She found comfort in being outdoors — digging in the dirt, pulling weeds, and watching things grow. She also loved a good mystery book and quiet afternoons by the pool. Lynne rarely slowed down, but those were her moments to recharge.

She had an undeniable creative streak. From her whimsical fairy tree to her Halloween minion display, fun earrings, and beautiful gardens, Lynne found ways to brighten the world around her. She loved a good craft fair and never missed a chance to decorate her golf cart for parades or her campsite for Halloween. She also had a competitive side, whether entering decorating contests or playing bingo. (We are still not allowed to talk about the outcome of last summer’s Fourth of July golf cart contest.)

Lynne loved camping, family vacations, and spending time with her siblings and friends — but the light of her life was her grandchildren. No matter what was happening in her life, they always brought her joy and a smile to her face. She was always up for something fun — and yes, she was once a proud member of a moped gang.

She had a soft spot for pets. Even after her beloved dog Bailey passed, Lynne kept dog treats in her camper just to spoil visiting pups.

Everyone who knew Lynne understood the dedication and hard work she put into everything she did. She was particularly proud to conclude her career with 20 years of service at Sam's Club, a testament to her commitment and perseverance.

Campfires were one of her favorite places to be. She made sure there were always Red Vines to pass around and baked goods to share. Her signature dishes — potato salad, rhubarb pie, and German chocolate cake — will be deeply missed at every summer gathering and holiday table.

Over the past year, Lynne faced her illness with the same strength and determination she brought to every part of her life. She handled it quietly, with courage and grace, never letting it change who she was or how she lived.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Kari; her parents, Robert and Maxine Boehmke; her brother-in-law Jerry; and her nephew Tanner.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Allen Eide; daughter Jessie Shocinski (Billy) and grandchildren Tiffany and Billy Jr. and, great grandchildren Liam, Jasper and Jaxon; son Adam Eide (Kate) and granddaughter Emberly, with a grandson on the way. She is also survived by her sisters Debbie Manion (Ken), Gloria Urbick (Rich), Cindy McManimon (Tom), and brother, Scott Boehmke.

A celebration of Lynne’s life will take place at Hoff Funeral Home on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., and at St. Mark’s Church on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.

To celebrate Lynne’s love of bright colors, guests are encouraged to wear something cheerful — something that would have made her smile.
