Lyle John Hoyme, 75, of Lanesboro, died Monday, March 9, 2020.
Lyle was born to John and Elsie (Steinocker) Hoyme in Watertown, SD. He was raised on the family farm outside of Summit, surrounded by cousins and friends. He graduated from Summit High School having participated in band and sports. He attended Pomona College (CA) briefly and then graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Economics.
He married the late Diane Ebert of Milbank, SD in 1968. Lyle taught high school classes and coached basketball, sold real estate, and farmed until the mid-1980s. He then worked in mobile home sales and service in Florida and Georgia.
Upon retirement, he moved to Lanesboro, MN to live closer to his family. He enjoyed the summers, conversations with close friends and family, and gardening. Lyle had a passion for watching sports, reading, cooking and for his Scandinavian heritage.
He is survived by a daughter; Keri (Barbara) of Rochester, MN/Phoenix, AZ; son, Jonathon (Stacy) of Carlos, MN; sister, Sharon Kirsch of Eden Prairie, MN; and, brother-in-law, Ray Flanders of LaPalma, CA.
He is preceded in death by his sister Jeanette, father John, and mother Elsie. A memorial and celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
