Lyle Harlan Storlie, 81, of Stockton, died suddenly on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in Lewiston.Lyle was born in Spring Grove, MN on September 25, 1930 to Leonard and Stella (Nohre) Storlie. After graduating from Mabel-Canton High School in 1948, Lyle entered the U.S. Army and was in the infantry until being stationed in Germany during the Korean War in 1953. On November 17, 1956, he was united in marriage to Carol Fogal in Hart and they moved to Stockton. Together, they managed and owned motels in Springfield, MN and Fall Creek, WI for 25 years. For over 30 years, Lyle traveled throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin as a salesman. During his sales career, Lyle traveled thousands of miles and socialized with many people along the way.He enjoyed trout fishing on sunny summer days, camping, and telling jokes. One of his favorite pastimes was playing pool and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed.Lyle is survived by his three children, Jim Storlie of Stockton, Judy (Steve) Kromrey of Minnesota City, and Jay Storlie (Andria) of Elk River; five grandchildren, Melissa, Nate, Brandon, Nick, and Hannah; great-grandson, Marcus; brother, LaVerne (Marge) Storlie of La Crosse; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Carol Storlie in 2010; brother, Clifton V. Storlie; and his parents.A memorial service for Lyle will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Central Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior. Reverend Jeff Franko will officiate.
