Lyle A. Henderson

Lyle A. Henderson, 85, died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at St. Anne Extended Care in Winona, MN. Lyle was born March 1, 1924, in Houston, MN, to Sumner and Ella (Meinnert) Henderson. Lyle grew up in Houston, MN, and joined the U.S. Army and served during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Lyle married Charlotte McNally on November 13, 1948, in Winona, MN, and they had celebrated their 60th anniversary. Lyle worked as a welder his entire life and retired from Valley Craft in 1965. He was a member of Ridgeway United Methodist Church. Lyle was a social butterfly and outdoorsman. Lyle was a member of the Rod and Gun Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved to tell stories of the days hunt or catch.Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; six children, Arlen (Vicki) Henderson of Marshfield, WI, Arlene (Joe) Lynch of Winona, MN; Wayne (Jean) Henderson of Winona, MN, Judy (Maurice) Ploetz of St. Charles, MN, Patty (Scott Dibley) Davis of Winona, MN, and Kevin (Kris) Henderson of Waterford, WI; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brother, Myron (Neva) Henderson of Winona, MN; and 5 sisters, Carol Brommerich, Betty (George) Fritz, Joan (Ronald) Fabian, Janice Fort and Sharon Nichols all of Winona, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 28th, at 3:00pm at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel with the Reverend James Strom officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Winona, MN. Military Honors will be conducted the American Legion of Winona.
