Luella "Lu" Maryann Theresa Wise, age 91, of Winona died Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Lake Winona Manor.
Luella was born August 7, 1927 to Louis and Margaret (Lammers) Scherbring in Minnesota City. She grew up around the Minnesota City and Rollingstone area and attended Rollingstone Schools. Luella married Robert Wise on October 28, 1950. They were members of Cathedral of The Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Luella was a wonderful mother to seven children. Her homemade chicken noodle soup was a staple in her household along with many other wonderful dishes. She worked at Lake Center, Winona State, and even ran a home daycare for a period. They had lived in Plainview and Elgin before settling in Winona. Robert and Luella loved going out together and she always was dressed for the occasion. They especially loved going out dancing together. They even danced in the group "The Boot Scootin Grannies" where they performed locally. A little-known secret of Luella's is her trophy for winning the Yodel Contest at the Winona Mall. Family and friends were her true pride and joy. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchilren as they came along.
Luella is survived by her children, Debra (Lindsey) Posey, Linda (Tony) Kiedrowski, William Wise (Tom Taylor), Barbara (Jeff) Canar, Michael (Anne) Wise, Karen (Donnie) Andre, and daughter-in-law Jill Wise. Grandchildren Kelly (Tim) Allington, Molly (Robert) Posey-Heyer, Michael (Lindsey) Posey, Andy Kiedrowski, Paul (Julie) Kiedrowski, Peter (Samantha) Kiedrowski, Jared Wise, Jenna Wise, Jonathan Wise, Paul Wise, David Canar, Brian Canar, Andrea (Andrew) Meyer, Joseph Wise, Kathryn Wise, Jacob Andre and Sarah Andre. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Ben, Ryan, Damien, Connor, Jack, Claire, Lexi, Cole, Kane, Reed, Jane, Owen, Norah, Thomas, Jase, Henry; sister, Betty (Richard) Burnett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents; son, Thomas; and 10 siblings; daughter-in-law, Bridget Wise.
