HOFF CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, GOODVIEW, MNLucille "Lucy" Wise Speltz January 18, 1922 - September 22, 2013ROLLINGSTONE, MINN. - Lucille Speltz of Rollingstone, Minn. passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at St. Anne Extended Care in Winona, Minn. She was born on January 18, 1922, in Rollingstone, Minn. to Julius Sr. and Margaret (Neiens) Wise. Lucille lived in Rollingstone all of her life. She married Bernard (Barney) Speltz on August 18th, 1945, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone. She worked with her husband in the family business, Speltz and Wise Meat Market, for many years. She was also employed at Lake Center Industries, J.C. Penney, Co. and Community Memorial Hospital. Lucille was a member of St. Mary's Circle of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Senior Citizens Group of Rollingstone, Minn. Lucy loved to watch all sports, but especially was a huge fan of Andre Agassi, Tiger Woods and the Minnesota Twins. She loved playing cards and going to bingo. Lucille loved to go-go-go, and looked forward to the trips with her daughters twice a year. She is survived by three daughters: Sandy Benning of Winona, Minn., Betty Lou Bierly of La Crosse, Wis., and Karen (Richard) Manske of Anoka, Minn.; five grandchildren: Ryan (Kelly) Benning of Excelsior, Minn., Heather (Chris) Sauer of Lewiston, Minn., Matthew (Becky) Benning of Madison, Wis. , Amanda (Jon) Bartnick of Cambridge, Minn., and Ben Manske of Anoka, Minn.; seven great-grandchildren: Piper and Brooks Benning, Creighton, Christa and Clarissa Sauer, Blake and Carter Bartnick; a brother: Julius Jr. of Rollingstone, two sisters: Delores (Jack) Kreidermacher of Rollingstone and Jeanne Ehmke of Maple Grove, Minn.; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Barney Speltz on June 13, 1976, two brothers, LeRoy Wise and LaVern Wise and son-in-law, Anthony "Tony" Bierly. There will be a Funeral Mass for Lucy at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone with the Rev. William Kulas officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at the church. Burial will take place in the church cemetery at a later date.
