Lucille M. Vickerman

FREMONT, MINN. - Lucille "Lucy" M. Vickerman, 79, of Fremont, Minn. died on Saturday, February 21, 2009, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford, Minn. Lucy was born on May 9, 1929, in Rochester, Minn. to Edward and Bernice (Plank) Allhiser. She attended school in Elgin and Rochester, Minn. Lucy married Vernon Vickerman in 1950. They were later divorced. She lived in Fremont, Minn. since then until moving to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home three years ago. Lucy did domestic work over the years for area residents. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, working puzzles and playing cards. Lucy is survived by four children: Barb Jonsgaard of Rushford, Carol (Lowell) Rasmussen of Rushford, Virgil (Sue) Vickerman of White Bear Lake, Minn., and Lois Vickerman of Eyota, Minn.; Plus Brenda Johnson who Lucy thought of as a daughter; ten grandchildren: Dawn, Heather, Jason "Beef", Koni, Chad, Tim, Sarah, Jenna, Melissa, and Cole; sixteen great-grandchildren; Two brothers: Leroy (Rita) Allhiser of Goodhue, Minn. and Luverne (Nancy) Allhiser of Rochester, Minn.; special friend, Willy Mueller, and his children: Kathy Erickson, Jim Mueller and Bob Mueller; and all of her "Poof" friends at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Pete; and one brother, Harold. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel with the Rev. Peter Enns officiating. Burial will be in the Lewiston Public Cemetery in Lewiston, Minn. Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at Good Shepherd.
