Loyd Donald "Don" McLeod, 97, of Lewiston died Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Winona Community Memorial Hospital.Don was born August 5, 1912 in Fremont to Alexander and Jeanie (Ferguson) McLeod. He was raised at Fremont and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1930. Don farmed, was a businessman and served in the Minnesota State Legislature for 10 years and served as mayor of Lewiston. He was a member and elder of 1st Presbyterian Church of Lewiston. Don was a Mason for more than 75 years, belonging to the Evergreen Masonic Lodge No. 46 of Clyde. He also belonged to Rochester Scottish Rite Bodies, 33 degree, Order of Eastern Star of St. Charles and Osman Temple of (A.R.O.N.N.I.S.) Shrine of St. Paul. He and Eunice P. Iverson were married on May 14, 1983. She died July 10, 2006. Survivors include; two step children, Richard (Diane) Iverson of Winona and Eunice (Thomas) Goodrich of Plymouth, five grandchildren; Brian Iverson, Tara Fravel, Pamela Iverson, Whitney and John Goodrich. He was preceded in death by his wife and a grandson Seth.Funeral Services will be 11 AM Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Lewiston with the Rev. Tim Gerarden officiating. Burial will be in Fremont Scottish Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8PM Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home in Lewiston. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
