Lovern Lucy Miller, 92, of Minneapolis, previously South Dakota, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Onalaska Care Center in Onalaska, Wisconsin.She was born on December 6, 1918 to William and Ida (Thibault) Cronk, the middle child of 5 siblings. In May of 1936, Lovern was united in marriage to Walter Miller in South Dakota. In her youth, Lovern enjoyed riding horses, a past time she also enjoyed with her husband. From South Dakota, the couple moved to Minneapolis, where Lovern worked side-by-side with pharmacists and filled prescriptions at the local drug store.Lovern was a homebody and treasured spending time with her family. She and Walter liked fishing and camping up north. In the summertime, the couple would travel west in their camper to visit family.She is survived by her son, Dwaine (Claire) Miller of La Crescent; 9 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Lovern is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Walter, who died in 2008; daughter, Dawn Schuster in 2005; infant son, Stanley; grandchildren, Brian and Kimberly; sisters, Crystal and Lanore; and brothers, Howard and Lowell.Funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service-Hansen Goodview Chapel with Reverend Paul Mundinger of Faith Lutheran Church in La Crosse officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
