RUSHFORDLouise Kathleen (Markegard) Ellefson, 78, of Rushford passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Saint Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona.Louise was born September 18, 1936 in Rushford to Kenneth and Lillian (Maland) Markegard. She graduated from Rushford High School in 1954. Louise married Murland Ellefson with whom she has five children; and was later married to George Jackson. Throughout her life, Louise's life was family. Her professional career was Civil Service Administration at Fort Ord, California and at Jacksonville Naval Air Station, Florida. Her favorite activities included local plays, crossword puzzles, writing, shopping, visiting and enjoying her grandchildren. Louise's favorite season was fall. She always took her kids and grandkids on country drives to see the fall colors and then to the famous pumpkin patch in Stockton. Louise was an accomplished homemaker and an accomplished advocate for those in recovery programs of all types. Family was always very dear to Louise, no matter how near or far. Described as classy, fun, silly, beautiful, loving, kind, and always seeing the good in everyone, Louise will always be remembered, never forgotten and so very loved and missed. Louise is survived by her children, Kathy Lee, Kenny (Chyrl) Ellefson, Daniel (Linda Sand) Ellefson, Debbie Gibson, and Laurie (Dean) Feine; grandchildren, Shaun (Tanya), Joel, Erica, Waylon, Travis, Zachary, Jessica, Christina, and Adria; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jane Klompenhower, Margaret Boehmke, and Rachel Kaitala; and by many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; and former brother-in-law, Ordell Ellefson.Services for Louise will be held 2pm, Friday, September 4, 2015 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Rushford with Reverend Hal Hintzman officiating. Visitation will take place two hours prior to the service at church. She will be laid to rest at Arendahl Lutheran Cemetery.
