St. Charles, Louis A. "Louie" Kieffer, 75 of St. Charles died Sunday morning, November 18th at his daughter's home in St. Charles. Louie was born June 3, 1937 in Elba to Raymond and Corrine (Siebenaler) Kieffer and was raised in Utica and serviced in the U.S. Navy. Louie and Donna Sanford were married on October 22, 1980. He worked for Sears as an appliance repairman. In 1978 he opened Louie's Appliance Service, which he operated until his death. Louie enjoyed growing trees, especially Black Hill Spruce at his Kieffer's Nursery. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in St. Charles. Louie enjoyed deer hunting, repairing and collecting clocks. Survivors include his wife Donna, four children; Vicki (Dale) Gathje and Chris (Keith) Miller of St. Charles, Sue Kieffer (Andy McMonigle) of Rochester and Adam (Heidi) Kieffer of Rochester, seven grandchildren; Erica and Kaitlyn Gathje, Aaron Miller, Philip and Tyler Saro, Noelle and Boden Kieffer and a sister Kay (Don) Schmidtknecht of Waumandee, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Allen and Don Kieffer. A Funeral Mass will be at 10AM Wednesday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Reverend Kurt Farrell officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Tuesday at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles. They may also call one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
