Lewiston, Lott W. Ahern, 93, formerly of Lewiston, died Sunday July 29th at St. Charles Assisted Living under Hospice Care. Lott was born March 4, 1914 in Lewiston to Mike and Madeline (Campion) Ahern. During the depression he worked in the copper mines of Nevada. He returned to Lewiston and worked with his uncle Ed Ahern, installing residential insulation. Lott served in the Navy during WWII as an electrician and was involved in the D-Day invasion. He and Margaret Czik were married on March 10, 1944 at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York. They made their home in St. Paul where he was a home improvement contractor. In 1969 they returned to Lewiston, where he installed residential siding. Lott was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston and the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife Margaret of St. Charles, five children; Marnie Ahern of Seattle, WA; Michael Ahern of Lewiston; Colleen (Randy) Howes of Irons, MI, Eileen (Roger) Dahlin of Winona and Mike (Sunni) Sinjem of Vancover, WA, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchild, and three sisters, Catherine Meyer of Tuscon, AZ; Lucille Hennessy of Sandy, Oregon and Genevieve Munns of Las Cruces, NM. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. A Funeral Mass will be at 10AM Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston with the Rev. Marreddy Pothireddy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services at the church. Hoff Funeral Home of Lewiston is assisting the family with arrangements.
