Lorraine Morrill, 90, of St. Charles, MN, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester. Her husband of 69 years Darwin and other loving family members were with her. The funeral will be Thursday, June 21st at The United Methodist Church of St. Charles, MN, at 11 AM with Reverend Heather E. Klason officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.She was born Lorraine Fugleberg in Roseau County, MN, on August 24, 1921, at her home. She married Darwin Morrill in Rochester in 1942, and they were married for 69 1/2 years, living most of them in St. Charles. She taught school in rural areas as well as in St. Charles and was a life member of NEA and a past member of MEA, and she formerly belonged to Alpha Delta Kappa Upsilon Sorority. Lorraine was a member of United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, a past member of Eastern Star, and a member of Friends of the Library and Homemaker's Club. She enjoyed reading, music, travel, gardening, children, friends, church, camping, Lewis and Clark membership, and wintering in Arizona.Mrs. Morrill is survived by her husband Darwin, daughter Lana (John) Ostermaier of Orange, TX, and son David (Marcia) Morrill of Rochester; three sisters, Eileen Newcomb of Rochester, Ruby Cox of Shoreview, and Yvonne (Richard) Fish of White Bear Lake, MN; two brothers, Duane "Bud" (Joanne) Fugleberg of Caledonia, MN, and James (Lyla) Fugleberg of Shell Lake, WI; three grandchildren, Jeremy Martin of Orange, TX, Mical (Jon) Peterson of Minneapolis, and Dana (Josh) Asleson of Rochester; and five great-grandchildren, Zoe Martin, Norah and Oscar Peterson, and Audrey and Emmett Asleson. In addition to her parents Helmer and Hazel Fugleberg, she was preceded in death by grandson James (Jamie) Martin and three sisters, Ina Dietz, Audrey Hunt, and Lila Brooks.Mrs. Morrill attended schools in Roseau, MN, Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, and graduated from St. Charles High school in 1939. She attended teacher's training in St. Charles in 1940-41 and graduated from Winona State University in 1970. She did post-graduate work in Rochester, Mankato, and St. Charles, MN, and retired from teaching kindergarten in 1982 after many years in education.Friends may call from 5 - 8PM on Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles and 1 hour before the service.
