Lois L. Hartman

St. Charles, Lois L. Hartman, 72, of St. Charles died Wednesday morning October 5, 2005 at Rochester Methodist Hospital. Lois was born August 23, 1933 in Wells, MN to Eli and Meta (Quade) Beckmann and graduated from Wells High School. She and Clarence Hartman were married June 30, 1957 in Wells, where they lived until moving to St. Charles in 1963. Lois was a daycare provider for 35 years in St. Charles. She also owned Hartman's Apparel there from 1981-1987. She loved baking, gardening, playing cards and decorating. Her grandchildren, Breanna, Michael and Morgan were a very important part of her life. Lois belonged to Faith Lutheran Church of St. Charles and its women's circle. She also belonged to Hugh Watson Post #190 American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband Clarence, two sons; Craig (Renae) of St. Charles and Jeff (Karen) of Rochester, three grandchildren, Breanna, Michael and Morgan, four brothers, Harold Beckmann of Wells; Herbert (Doris) Beckmann of New Richland; Gerald Beckmann of Wells and Manny (Pat) Beckmann of Waseca, two sisters, Viola Hassing and Marvel Kaiser both of Wells. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Violet Bohm and Helen Albers, five brothers, Melvin, Gustav, Norman, Clarence and Orville Beckmann. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles with the Rev. Dr. Mark Wilms and Rev. Robert Albers officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, St. Charles. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Friday at Hoff Funeral Home's - St. Charles Chapel. They may also call one hour before services Saturday at the church.
