Lois Ann Frauenkron

Lois Ann Frauenkron, 77 of rural Hokah, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Franciscan Healthcare in La Crosse.Lois was born February 11, 1938 in La Crosse to Eugene and Verna (Gronemus) Hammes. She graduated from Aquinas High School in La Crosse. On December 29, 1956, she married Duane Frauenkron in Houston. They made their home in the rural Houston and Hokah areas, raising 6 children. Lois was deeply rooted in her Christian beliefs. She was extremely strong-willed and independent. Lois enjoyed tending to her many beautiful gardens, helping on the farm, deer hunting and fishing. Her family was of the utmost importance to her and she treasured every moment spent with them.She is survived by her children, Gary (Vickie) Frauenkron of Houston, Michael Paul (Sharon) Frauenkron of Decorah, IA, Debbie (Mike) Craig of Hokah, Linda (Bill) Ulmen of Hokah, Lisa (Tony) Reinhart of Houston and Diane (Art) Vinson of Brandon, MN; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren with two more on the way; brothers and sisters, Arlene (Jim) Bettin, Dennis (Ellen) Hammes, Tom Hammes, Barb (Jim) Pischke, Bev Flock, Gerald (Patti) Hammes, and Janet (Bill) Craig; sister-in-law, Sara Hammes; and many nieces and nephews. Lois is preceded in death by her husband in 2002; parents; brother, Richard Hammes; brother-in-law, Denny Flock and sister-in-law, Donna Hammes.Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church with the Reverend Leonard Liptack officiating. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
