St. Charles, Lloyd Edward Koenig, 75, of St. Charles died Thursday June 24, 2004 in Saratoga Township of Winona County. Lloyd was born June 19, 1929 at Oak Ridge in Winona County to Clement and Thelma (Peabody) Koenig. Lloyd and Dolores House were married on July 3, 1952 at San Angelo, TX. He served in the Air Force from 1950-54. The couple then farmed in St. Charles Township for many years. Dolores died May 15, 1978. He and Roberta Martin were married on June 30, 1984 in St. Charles. He retired from farming and lived near Utica, later moving to St. Charles. The couple wintered in Scottsdale, AZ. Lloyd was a good friend of the Amish Community and enjoyed driving for them. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and the St. Charles American Legion Post #190. Survivors include his wife Roberta, five children, Roger (Priscilla) Koenig of St. Charles; Patricia Koenig of St. Charles; Tom (Kathy) Koenig of Stockton; David Koenig of Elba and Karen Koenig of Turlock, CA, two step sons, Bud Barton of Scottsdale, AZ and Butch Barton of Eyota, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four step grandchildren, one step great-grandchild, a brother Ray (Sadie) Koenig of Bethany and a sister Gen (Howard) Beyers of Goodview. In addition to his first wife Dolores he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jerome and a sister Loretta. There will be a Funeral Mass 1:30 PM Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Rev. James Callahan officiating. Burial will follow services at Calvary Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Wednesday and noon until 1 PM Thursday at Hoff Funeral Home's ? St. Charles Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 4:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. The St. Charles American Legion Post will conduct military graveside honors at the cemetery.
