HOFF FUNERAL AND SERVICE, ST. CHARLES 507-932-4100ST. CHARLES, MINN. - Lloyd E. Peterson, 81, of St. Charles, Minn. died on Friday, June 28, 2013, at his home. Lloyd was born on March 31, 1932, in Castle Rock, Minn. to Peter J. and Thilda (Johnson) Peterson. He was raised in Castle Rock where he attended country school. Lloyd graduated from Northfield High School in 1950. On September 6, 1952, Lloyd was united in marriage with Dorothy L. Peterson. He drove truck for Feeley Elevator in Farmington, Minn. Lloyd also drove for Greyhound Bus and Red Owl Foods. In 1966, Lloyd and Dorothy moved to St. Charles, Minn. He drove for Midland Trucking until his retirement from trucking in 1983. Lloyd then founded and operated North Castle Specialties in Winona, Minn. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the Moose Lodge and was a charter member of the St. Charles Golf Course. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Dorothy; four children: Margaret (Bruce) Braun of St. Charles, Kathy (Paul) Decker of St. Charles, Dan (Renee) Peterson of Becker, Minn., and Doug (Jackie) Peterson of Dover, Minn.; nine grandchildren: Tricia, Teresa, Trista, Denise, Anita, Mike, Nick, Cory and Brandon; nine great-grandchildren; two siblings: Maynard Peterson of Fort Myers, Florida and Marion Bagwell of Douglas, Georgia; and by his special companion, Lloyd's dog, Joy. He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles, Minn. with the Rev. Steve McGinley officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
