Linda (Simon) Matzke

ROCHESTER,MINN. Linda (Simon) Matzke, 59 of Rochester, formerly of Lewiston, MN, died Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Linda was born February 8, 1946 to Milton A. and Verna M. (Prudoehl) Simon in Lewiston, MN. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1964 and Winona Vo-Tech in 1965. She worked as a custodian at the Holiday Inn, Winona, MN and later lived in Owatonna and Byron before moving to Rochester. She married Gary E. Matzke on August 17, 1968 and they were later divorced on August 17, 1997. She was a long time employee of Arnold's Kleenit and Supply; she cleaned at IBM for many of those years. She enjoyed fishing and watching football on Sunday. She is survived by her father Milton of Lewiston, and a sister Norma (Jerry) Schulte, Stratton, CO and a brother Allan E. (Betty) Simon, Goodland, KS. She is also survived by 3 nephews; Scott and Matthew Simon, and Blake Schulte; 2 neices Jena and Joy Schulte, and two great-neice Kelsey and Morgan Simon. Linda is survived by a special friend Louis (Lou) Ruehmann. She was preceded in death by her mother Verna Martha on May 12, 2002.A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Our Savior's Moravian Church in Altura. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2005 from 5-8 p.m. at the church and also one hour before the service. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery, Bethany, MN. Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers to the American Heart Association.
