Chatfield

Chatfield, Minnesota

Linda L. Schulz, age 74 of Chatfield, MN (formerly of Osage, Iowa) passed away at Chosen Valley Care Center on July 25, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Linda Lee Springer was born on January 17, 1950 the first child of Alvin and Marjorie (Wolfe) Springer in Mason City, IA. She attended school in the Osage area where she loved being a cheerleader for many years. She graduated from Osage High School in 1968. She married the love of her life, Terry Schulz, on June 15, 1969 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, IA. The young couple moved to Denver, CO where Linda worked as the Secretary to the Dean at the local community college. They moved to Osage, IA and were blessed with two daughters, Elizabeth and Victoria. They made their home in Osage for over forty years until moving to Chatfield, MN to be near family in 2017. Their home on Oak Street was always known as the gathering place for their kids’ friends and neighbors and she loved making everyone “white mac” and sharing in the laughter and fun. Linda was a longtime Secretary at the Osage Elementary School where she touched countless lives. So many have reached out to express how her presence at the elementary school office always made them feel seen, loved and understood as a child. Linda’s greatest joy in life was her family. She adored her husband Terry and together they cherished so many memories with their children and grandchildren. Linda was very creative and inventive with her grandkids, spending days doing crafts and playing games. She invented something called “Nana and Dudey Camp” where her grandkids would camp at their house in the summer and enjoy time together riding horses and having water fights. Linda loved athletics and was always a superfan to everyone on the team. No one cheered louder or was more encouraging than Nana. Linda was able to make friends wherever she went, but her true gift was with children. She became “Nana” to everyone that knew her. Linda enjoyed good books, movies and music. She especially loved the Harry Potter series, Taylor Swift and Cher. Linda had a special love for glitter and all that sparkled. She dedicated her life to spreading love, kindness and support to all. Linda will be always remembered for her huge hugs, loving personality and her advice to "Never let anyone dull your sparkle".

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 55 years, Terry of Chatfield, her daughters, Elizabeth (E.B.) (Derrick) Allen of Chatfield and Victoria Noel of Dubuque, IA, grandchildren, Belle Berg of Chatfield, Teagen Allen of Mankato, Delaney Noel of Long Island, NY, Peyton Berg of Winona, Brady Noel of Dubuque, IA, Tatum Allen of Mankato, Finnegan Noel and Traenor Noel, both of Dubuque, IA.Linda is further survived by her siblings, Pam (Greg) Havig of Mason City, IA, Kathy (Dick) Hatten of Stacyville, IA, Cindy Springer of Dodge City, Kansas and Don (Kim) Swan of Mason City, IA.Linda was greeted in heaven by her parents, her siblings, Butch (Jolene) Springer, sister Debbie Spring and her nephew Chad Springer, brothers Wally and Neil Springer and her son-in-law Shawn Berg.
