WINONAAlthough she was taken from her loved ones much too soon, Linda Rose made the most of the moments she was given each and every day. She was genuine, kindhearted, and fun-loving which made her the sort of person whom everyone wanted to know. A devoted family woman, Linda treasured her roles as a wife and mother, however, she just may have argued that becoming a grandmother was her greatest gift. In addition to being devoted to her family, she was deeply devoted to the community she called home throughout her entire lifetime. Nothing will ever be the same without Linda here, but her timeless legacy will be carried on by those who follow in her footsteps. It seems only fitting that Linda's journey began during a time that was as vibrant as she was. It was the Nifty Fifties when Elvis Presley took the world of music by storm with his rock'n roll, music and James Dean made young girls swoon on the silver screen. Blue jeans and coonskin hats were all the rage, and with televisions becoming part of our homes, shows like Father Knows Best forever transformed the way we saw the ideal American family. It was as this exciting time was coming to a close that William and Sally (Beckius) Schultz were filled with great anticipation as they were awaiting the birth of their new baby as the beauty of spring began to unfold in Winona, Minnesota, in 1959. The big day finally arrived when the baby girl they named Linda A. drew her first breath on April 9th. She was one of four children and the only girl in her family as she was raised alongside her brothers, Joseph, Dan, and Bill. In many ways Linda was a young girl of her generation. She was warm, outgoing, and kind from her earliest years, and she drew others near with ease. Linda attended Winona Public Schools where she was popular among her peers. She went on to graduate from Winona Senior High in 1977. Not to be forgotten during Linda's years as a young woman was her introduction to the young man with whom she would write a love story that would span more than 35 years. His name was Scott Rose, and sparks flew right from the start. Linda and Scott began dating, and it wasn't long before they found themselves deeply in love. With a desire to establish a life together, the sweethearts were united in marriage on July 29, 1979, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Winona. Together they were blessed to welcome their son, Mike, into their hearts and home. From the moment she became a mother, Linda fully immersed herself in the role, and she loved caring for her husband and son, and home. In addition to keeping busy at home, Linda was active outside in the community as well. She spent 29 years working in the dietary department at Winona Health. Linda had currently been working there as the dietary supervisor. She truly enjoyed cooking, which was something her family and friends fully appreciated. Linda's skills also included baking as she loved making wedding and birthday cakes for family and friends. She was an avid bowler who was part of local bowling leagues for several years. All who knew Linda Rose would agree that she was an extraordinary woman to know and love. She worked hard, but she played hard, too, and nothing was better than being surrounded by her family and friends. Passionate about the things she believed in, Linda's grace and kindhearted gestures were an inspiration to everyone she met. A stranger to none and a friend to all, she will be deeply missed but never forgotten by all who were blessed to be within her reach. Linda A.
