Lillian June Thompson Reps 96, died Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Nursing Home in Rushford. She was born June 14,1925 to Carl & Emma (Seheim) Thompson of Rushford. Lillian was the last surviving sibling from of family of 11.
She attended Perkins Country School on Vinegar Hill and graduated from Rushford High School. Lillian & Elmer (Shorty) Reps were married January 21, 1945. Together they farmed & raised five daughters & seven sons.
Lillian devoted her life to making a home for her large family. In her quiet example, she instilled a strong work ethic, faith & gentle kindness. One of her granddaughters wrote of her life, "Grandma, the legacy that you leave behind is one most people only dream of. You built a family that extends to over hundred! You will always be remembered for your gentle soul, mashed potatoes, dill pickles, cookies and banana bread."
Her senior yearbook caption says it best: Her smile serene, her manners staid, she wouldn't break a rule, Lillian T. was a gentle maid.
She is survived by her children: Dennis (Marcia) Reps, Utica. Sherry (John) Slavin, St. Charles. Larry (LaVonne) Reps, Lewiston, Koni (David) Lange, Hastings, Kristi (David) Tveten, Lewiston, Jeffrey (Hilary) Reps, St. Charles, Terry (Shawn) Reps, St. Charles, Daniel (Tammy) Reps, Utica, Thomas Reps, Belgrade, Timothy (Lisa) Reps, St. Charles, MN. Forty six grandchildren & 100 great-grandchildren. One brother-in-law, Richard Reps of Winona, & one sister-in-law, Betty Reps, Lewiston.
She is preceeded in death by her husband, Elmer, daughter, Lynda Reps, daughter & son-in-law Dana & Tom Schott, daughter-in-law Kathy Reps, infant grandson, Darrin Reps, her parents, sisters Evelyn Johnson Madeline Gudmunson & brothers Olaf, Carl, Henry, Martin, Orlin, Clifford & Harold Thompson.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles with the Reverend William Meilner officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. A visitation will be at St. Matthew Lutheran Church from 4-7 p.m. Monday and 10 - 11 a.m. Tuesday. Hoff Funeral Service of St. Charles is assisting the family with arrangements.
