PETERSON, MINN. - Lillian O. Holland, 79, of Peterson, died Thursday, April 22, 2004, at the Lake Winona Manor in Winona, Minn. She was born on June 13, 1924, in Hawley, Minn. to Ludvig and Olga (Haarstad) Kvamme. Lillian was raised in Hawley, and moved to Minneapolis where she worked as a nurse at Deaconess Hospital. On October 6, 1945 she married Silas A. Holland in Hawley. She and Silas lived in Forrest City Iowa from 1951 to 1957. They then moved to the Peterson and Lanesboro area where they farmed for many years. Lillian was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson, Minn. and was on the church council there. Lillian was a member of the Peterson Garden Club, Peterson Legion Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed family, travel, playing dominos and was known as a social butterfly. Lillian is survived by four sons: Ellsworth (Karla) Holland of Rushford, Minn., Luther (Karen) Holland of Winona, Minn., David (Dixie) Holland of Winona, Minn. and Daniel (Leanne) Holland of Blooming Prairie, Minn.; one daughter, Julie (Gerhard) Heier of Spring Grove, Minn.; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Carlton (Kathy) Kvamme of Elbow Lake, Minn. and Kermit (Grace) Kvamme of Goodyear, Ariz.; two sisters: Stella Ann Swiggum of Golden Valley, Minn. and Renora Paulson of Washburn, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson and one brother. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 26, at the Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson, Minn. with the Rev. Ronald Warnes officiating. Burial will be in the Arendahl Lutheran Cemetery in rural Peterson. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson.
