HOFF FUNERAL HOMES - HOUSTON CHAPEL 507-896-3127 MONEY CREEK, MINN. - Lillian D. Fitting, 85, of Money Creek, Minn. died on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at Franciscan - Skemp Healthcare in LaCrosse, Wis. Lillian was born on February 16, 1924, in Blackhammer, Minn. to Albert and Bertha (Ostern) Holm. She was raised in Blackhammer and attended Blackhammer Country School. Lillian graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1942. She attended LaCrosse Business School in LaCrosse, Wis. On June 24, 1947, she married Ralph Fitting in Blackhammer. Besides being a homemaker and working on the family farm with her husband, Lillian worked for Money Creek Haven Campground and Valley View Nursing Home from 1967 to 1997. She was a very caring and devoted nursing assistant. She was a member of Money Creek United Methodist Church and the ladies aid there. Lillian's interests included reading and flower gardening. Lillian is survived by her husband, Ralph; two sons: Rick Fitting and Jeff (Mary) Fitting both of Money Creek; three grandchildren: Becky (Josh) Hamit, Jon Fitting, and Hannah (Ben) Halverson; and two sisters: Dorothy Rosaaen and Elvina Bratland, both of Spring Grove, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Lawrence and Doc, two sisters: Palma and Francis, and by a daughter-in-law, Sharon Fitting. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, at Money Creek United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James Strom officiating. Burial will be in the Money Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Houston Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
