LeRoy Matthew Frisch

Leroy "Butch" Frisch, 69, of Altura, MN died Friday, May 18, 2012 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, Lacrosse, WI. Butch was born April 14, 1943 to Clarence and Anna (Bowman) Frisch. He grew up on the family farm at Oak Ridge, MN. After graduating from Winona Senior High School in 1961, he enlisted in the Army. He returned home to work first on the family farm then at Lewiston Implement. His love of the land also led him into custom combining and trucking of farm products.Butch married Judith Dzwonkowski on January 25, 1964 at St. Stanislaus Church in Winona, MN. They are the parents of four children, Bobbi (Bob Paetzel) Siefert of Winona, Mickel (Brianna) Frisch of Lewiston, Mark (Wendy) Frisch of Wabasha, and Matthew (Michelle Obitz) Frisch of Minnesota City. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Christopher, Mickel, Madilyn, Anna, Cullen, Dylan, Isabella, Joeseph, and Brock; two special little great-granddaughters, Aubrey and Morgyn.Butch had a big grin and a hearty laugh, loved hunting pheasants with his cousins in western MN and deer hunting on the farm with his sons. Butch and Judy loved being with their children and grandchildren, especially when they would have family camping weekends. Although he had calloused hands, his heart was soft. His passing has left a huge void in our hearts but the memories are forever.Butch is survived by his wife; children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother, Allen Frisch of St. Charles; sisters, Sandra (Barry) Ross of St. Cloud, Lori (Sherman) Smith of Winona, and Terry (Ron) Schell of Lewiston. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Lou and Shirley Ann.Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service-Hansen Goodview Chapel. A memorial service led by Funeral Celebrant John Wagenaar will begin at 7pm. Following the service, full military honors will be provided at the funeral home by the American Legion Leon J. Wetzel Post #9.
