Leroy Dockter

Leroy Dockter, 76, died Saturday, February 9, 2008, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI, surrounded by his family. Leroy was born November 8, 1931, in Trail City, SD to Theodore and Magdalena (Schrenk) Dockter. Leroy grew up in Ashley, ND and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. In 1956 he came to Houston, MN where he married Darlene Ledebuhr on November 9, 1956. Leroy worked for Ace Communications for 36 years. Leroy was a member of Money Creek Methodist Church and the American Legion in Houston. Leroy was a loving husband, father and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Leroy was a member of the Antique Car Club, collected antique telephones, enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing cards and bowling. He will be missed by his family and friends.Survivors include his wife, Darlene; four children, Douglas (Sue) Dockter of Houston, MN, Timothy (Lee Elson) Dockter of Roseville, MN, Thomas Dockter of Money Creek, MN and Darcy (Lowell) Papenfuss of Bangor, WI; five grandchildren, Anthony Dockter, David Dockter, Jared Papenfuss, Hunter Dockter and Cole Papenfuss; and two sisters, Atlanda Dockter and Myrdis Heupel both of Ashley, ND.He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sister, Lenora and three brothers, Reinhold, Clifford and Lenhard.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at 1:00pm at Money Creek Methodist Church with the Reverend James Strom officiating. Burial will be in the Money Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at Hoff Funeral Homes ?
