LeRoy Arthur Burt

LeRoy Arthur Burt, 84, of Minnesota City, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI.LeRoy was born on March 16, 1927 in Utica, MN to Ernest and Helen (Huebner) Burt. As a young man, he enjoyed driving stock cars. LeRoy was united in marriage to Charlotte Stedman of Winona. They then made their home in Rockford, IL. On September 6, 1954, he married Rosella Pomeroy in South Dakota. The couple enjoyed fishing, camping, and entertaining. Their home was always full and yet they always had an empty chair. For many years, LeRoy worked as press room supervisor at Winco Short Run stamping in Menomonee Falls, WI and retired in 1994. After his retirement, he relocated to Minnesota City. There, he enjoyed driving school bus for Phillips. LeRoy was very social and loved talking around the kitchen table. He enjoyed following Nascar and football and had a great sense of humor. His family will greatly miss his jokes. LeRoy is survived by his children, LeRoy "Bud" Burt of Milwaukee, Sherry Burt of Winona, Diane (Thomas) Rothering of Dodge, WI, Donna (Jeffrey) Cadeau of Campbellsport, WI, Gerald (Diana) Burt of Onalaksa; step-children, Marcella (Wayne) Anderson of Joplin, MO, Ruthann Schneeberg of Campbellsport, WI, Bonnie (Clarence) Carlson of Richfield, WI, Howard (Karen) Messig of Germantown, WI; 22 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Fern, twin Lorraine, Marion, Bonnie, Maxine ; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte in 2010; second wife, Rosella in 2005; brothers, Glen, Orville, and Bruce, grandson Jason Boche; son-in-law Herb Schneeberg.Funeral service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service-Hansen Goodview Chapel with visitation one hour prior. Funeral Celebrant John Wagenaar will officiate. Interment will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
