Leora A. Pflughoeft, 90, of St. Charles died Tuesday, April 19th at Gundersen Medical Center in LaCrosse. Leora was born August 30, 1925 in New Hartford, MN to Alfred and Florence (Albrecht) Blumentritt. Her family lived in many locations as her father pursued a better life for his family operating mills. Having lived in New Hartford, Eau Claire, WI and Gilmanton, WI. She graduated from high school in Gilmanton and went on to bookkeeper school in Eau Claire. Leora later moved home to be with her family at Ridgeway when her father became ill. It was at her family's store in Ridgeway that she met Emil Pflughoeft. They married August 28, 1949 in Ridgeway and farmed in the area from 1949 - 1979. Leora and Emil moved Minnesota City. They later moved to St. Charles. Leora was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Goodview.
Leora had worked at the YMCA, also for an insurance agent, and later at Randall's Foods. She was a 4-H Leader, and volunteered at Winona County Fair as well as the State Fair.
Survivors include her husband Emil, their three daughters; Dawne (Sam Netherly) Pflughoeft of Cottage Grove, Debra Pflughoeft-Hassett of Grand Forks, ND and Lori (Randy) Kramer of St. Charles, six grandchildren; Richard Hassett, Zachary (Valerie) Roberton, Lindsey Netherly (Brandon Sherman), Roberta Hassett, Alexandra Netherly and Anna Kramer, three great-grandchildren, Mariya Roberton, Dannika Roberton and Roman Sherman. She was preceded in death by a brother Alton Blumentritt, a grandson, Randy Kramer, Jr. and a son-in-law, David Hassett.
Funeral Services will be 11AM Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Goodview with Pastor Ben Sadler officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
