Leonard "Red" Mastenbrook, 89 of Minnesota City, died Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Lake Winona Manor.Leonard was born January 4, 1926 to Carl and Kate (Kohal) Mastenbrook in Deering Valley during a snowstorm. He attended a one room school house in Deering Valley and graduated from Winona Senior High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during WWII. On August 20, 1960, he married Estelle Holmlund. Leonard worked for many years at Winona Ready Mix and Modern Ready Mix and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winona. He is survived by his son, Lennie (Pam) of Winona; daughter, Nancy of Minneapolis; two grandchildren, Carl (Susan) and Claire; sister, Mary Jacobs of Arlington, TX and many nieces and nephews.Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle in 2003; parents and three brothers, Carl Jr., William and Jule.Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Winona with Pastor Dennis Hudson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Leon J. Wetzel Post #9 at Windom Park.
