Lenny Deo Taylor, 52 of Dover, died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer.Lenny was born February 17, 1963 in Rochester to Lawrence "Shorty" and Donaldeen "Donna" (Whitney) Taylor. He graduated from Chatfield High School in 1982. Lenny was born and raised an auto mechanic and was ASE Certified. As a teenager, Lenny was active in 4-H. On May 5, 1984 he married June Burrows, they later divorced. Lenny lived in Texas for a short period of time before moving to Florida where he lived for 11 years. In November of 1996, he returned to Minnesota to be closer to family. He worked for Harold's Auto, Rich's South Side, Valley Auto Sales, Yellow Cab in Rochester for 6 years following a back injury. In January of 1997, Lenny met the love of his life, Lael Brown. They later married on February 16, 2007.He loved camping, hunting, fishing, playing pool and drag racing his Chevy Nova. Lenny was a member of the St. Charles Moose Lodge. He was incredibly special and believed that blood didn't make a family. He took on a single mother with 4 children, along with his daughter and brought them all together to make a loving family.Lenny is survived by his wife, Lael; children, Nicole (Juston) Evans, Angelina (Jeff) Littlefield, Michelle (Louis Kilen) Ackman, Christopher Goetz and Laehn Taylor; five grandchildren, Lindsey, Megan, Ryan, Carter and Lila; parents, Lawrence "Shorty" and Donna Taylor; brother, Vernon "Squirt" (Lisa) Taylor; sister, Deb (Don) Fenske; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Spike.Lenny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Warren Sr. & Mildred Whitney and Fay and Mamie Taylor; sister-in-law, Jill Ackman and mother-in-law, Judy Brown.The family would like to thank their special and dear friends, Britt Coulson and Jenny Musty, family is what you make it. They would also like to thank everyone for all the love, prayers and food.A Celebration of his life will be 11 a.m., Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service in St. Charles led by Funeral Celebrant, Jenny Hoff. Visitation will be 4 -8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.
