Leland "Swede" Johnson, 69, of Fountain City, told his last joke and had his last laugh on June 27, 2017. Swede very proudly served active duty in the Army from 1966-1968. He was a sergeant in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. Following that, he was in the Army Reserve for 25 years. If you really knew Swede, there isn't much more that needs to be said.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jean; daughters, Tina Huffman, Tina (Todd) Anibas, Tonia Schwanke, and Michelle Mueller; sons, Travis (Janet), Todd, Tobi, and George (Shara) Fuller; sisters, Eldora (Merlin) Bauer, Gloria (Mark) Pospichal; brothers, Ronald (Joyce), Randall, Thomas; brothers-in-law, John, Gary and Vern Graves; sisters-in-law Ardis (Jack) Willits and Cindy Neitzel (Jake); grandchildren, Kelsey (Krystal), Loren, Tyler G., Desiree, Bryton, Adrianna, Alysa, Cory Jr, Spencyr, Riley, ShyeAnn, Tyler M., Triston, Amanda (Steve), Laura (Garrett), Richard, Alexis, Grace, Bryce, Derek, Brandon and Matayvia; great-grandchildren, Hilari and Elias. He is also survived by his good friends; Dorothy Fuller, David Bauer, Mark Klevgard, Bill Mattausch, Steve Heller, Bill Baker and Rusty Gibbons; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Frances Johnson; his parents-in-law, Gordon and Hyacinthia Graves; brother, Jerome; son, Woody Fuller; nephews, Jonathan Johnson and Corey Bielefeldt; brothers-in-law, David Bielefeldt and Roger Heller; sister-in-law, Shirley Johnson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Drammen Cemetery at noon. Officiant Kevin Hutter will preside. Military honors will be provided by Gilmanton Legion. Lunch will be served at Gilmanton Legion Hall from 1:00 to 3:00 and at Midway Bar near Fountain City from 4:00 to 6:00.
