Lawrence Richard Rinn

Lawrence "Larry" R. Rinn, 72, of Rochester, formerly of Lewiston, MN died Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Beverly Living Center in Rochester, MN. Lawrence was born on June 4, 1934 in Lewiston, MN to Richard and Alpha (Peterson) Rinn. After graduating from Lewiston High School, Lawrence worked at Federal Bakery in Winona, Rush Products and Skell Gas Company both in Lewiston, Purolater and NAPA Auto Parts both in Rochester, and also drove for DR Classic Cars for his brother. On August 19, 1967, Lawrence married Caroline Senne Olson at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston. They later moved to Stewartville and then eventually to Rochester. Lawrence was a fun-loving man who enjoyed fishing, dancing, and watching cooking shows on TV. He loved driving cars, getting the attention of little children, and had a deep appreciation for his family and friends. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Caroline of Rochester; stepdaughter, Diane (Michael) Splittstoesser of Rochester; stepson, Michael (Ginger) Olson of New Jersey; five step grandchildren, Megan Splittstoesser, Melinda, Tyler, Melanie, and Tessa Olson; five sisters, JoAnn (Robert) Franzen of Lewiston, Janice (Robert) Dornfeld of Winona, Cheryl (David) Meyer of Burleson, TX, Paulette (Duane) Kinneberg of Winona, and Mary Rinn of Winona; two brothers, Gerald (Shirley) Rinn of Lewiston and Daniel (Diane) Rinn of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews. Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents, brother Allen, and sister Susan. The Funeral Mass for Lawrence is scheduled for Monday, June 4, 2007 at 11:00am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston, MN with the Reverend Marreddy Pothireddy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8pm on Sunday, June 3 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Hoff Funeral Home ~ St. Charles Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
