Lawrence Reed Ehlenfeldt, 73, of Winona, died peacefully, Saturday, January 22, 2011 at his home in Houston.Larry was born February 26, 1937 in Oakland, CA to Neil and Elaine (Jones) Ehlenfeldt. On June 14, 1980 he married Rita Severson in Hokah. He served in the United States Air Force during the Cuban Missle Crisis and was a lab technician for Fibrite in Winona. Larry had a great love of music and was very talented in playing the harmonica, keyboard and guitar. He also enjoyed dancing, reading and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to anyone he met.He is survived by his wife, Rita; children, Patty Beer of Rome, NY, Diane Ehlenfeldt of Utica, NY, Larry Ehlenfeldt Jr. of Rome, NY, Ida (Mike) Ladewig of Lewiston, Lori (Jim) Loew-Clerk of PA, Brian (Kris) Ehlenfeldt and Chad Lange both of Lewiston; step-daughter, Heather (Corey) Benson of Houston; 18 grandchildren; brother, Arlan (Molly) Ehlenfeldt of Le Seuer; and sister, Roxanne (Albert) Fenske of Chatfield.He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Vernon and Noel.A Memorial Service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, January 27, at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service -Hansen Goodview Chapel with the Reverend Tom Schoen officiating. Visitation will be 12 noon until the time of the service. Burial of his cremated remains will take place in the spring at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
