Lawrence Palmer Eide, 91 of Winona, entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at his home with his wife at his side.
Lawrence was born January 18, 1926 in Fremont to Julian and Agnes (Jonsgaard) Eide. He served in the United States Army from 1945-1946, stationed in the South Pacific. On April 17, 1948, he married the love of his life, Lila Feine at Trinity Evangelical Church in Wilson. They started their life together farming in Wilson. He was proud of the fact that the farm is still in the family. Lawrence believed in the importance of standing together as a family, hard work, and most of all the love for God.
Lawrence was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church since 1948, he served the Lord his entire life, served on the Wilson Creamery Board and was a member of the VFW Post 1287.
Lawrence enjoyed deer hunting, tractor pulls, selling seed corn and talking to everyone. His smile, jokes, and Norwegian chuckle will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lila; five children, Sheryl Ulrich, Everett (Kathy) Eide, Duane (Stacy) Eide, Marsha Durham, and Tammy (Matt) Lisowski; 12 grandchildren, Brent (Lorelei) Bunke, Scott (Kathy) Bunke, Bruce (Jenni) Bunke, Amy (Jeremy) Schossow, Katie (Tye) Hemmelman, Justin (Lisa) Eide, Nicholas (Kelsey) Eide, Cassie (Eric) Dahl, Angi (Brian) Siegele, Dustin Durham, Hunter and Bethany Lisowski; 19 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way; four brothers, Milton (Bette) Eide, Elmer Eide, Clifford Eide and Maynard (Evadine) Eide and many nieces and nephews.
Lawrence was preceded in death by an infant daughter; sons-in-law, Ron Bunke, Dave Ulrich and Kirk Durham; three brothers, Alvin, Ronald and Norman and two sisters, Ovida and Leona.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2017 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilson with the Reverend Anthony Straseske officiating. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m., Sunday at Hoff Celebration of Life Center - Goodview and one hour prior to the service at church.
