St. Charles, Lawrence Lee (Larry) Stock, 78, of St. Charles died Friday, June 29th, at Golden Living Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles. Larry was born August 22, 1928, in Lewiston to Arthur and Selma (Batzlaff) Stock. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1946 and moved with his family to St. Charles following graduation. Larry and Marjorie Smith were married June 19, 1951, at the St. Charles Congregational Church. The couple farmed south of St. Charles. In 1958 they bought their own farm in Saratoga Township. They moved on to the farm in 1959 and have lived there since. Larry enjoyed his many fishing trips to Canada and also liked to hunt and play cards. He had been active in 4-H as a leader and was awarded the 4-H Leader of the Year. Larry enjoyed being involved in the Winona County Fair, where he and Marjorie had served as 1999 Fair King and Queen. Larry was a member of the St. Charles United Church of Christ. He was also a member and Past Governor of the St. Charles Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife Marjorie, three daughters; Gloria (Gene) Stock Mickelson of Minnetonka, Lila (Gerard) Brogan of St. Charles, Mary Ann (Jay) Kachelski of Elgin, seven grandchildren; Keith, Heidi, Paula, Scott, Lisa, Stacy & Cree, four great-grandchildren, Shawn, Clay, Leann and Narria, two sisters-in-law, Shirley Stock of St. Charles and Beverly Mahachek of Northfield. He was preceded in death by his brother John. Funeral Services will be 11AM Tuesday at St. Charles United Church of Christ with Funeral Celebrant Darrel Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Monday at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles. They may also call one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.
