RUSHFORD, MINN. Lavina B. Heiden, 93, died Friday, March 18, 2005 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. Lavina was born August 1, 1911 to Warren and Barbara (Overing) Todd in Wiscoy Valley of Winona County. She grew up on the family farm and attended Wiscoy Valley Country School. She married Elmer Heiden on June 11, 1932 on the family farm. They farmed in the Money Creek area and on a farm between Rushford and Houston. They also moved to Houston, Winona, and Rushford. She was a homemaker, worked as a seamstress, and was a cook at the Houston High School. She also did custodial work at Winona Community Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Chruch, Rushford, MN. They belonged to a 500 Card Club and enjoyed playing Euchre. The couple traveled to every state in the United States, and claimed their trip to Hawaii as their favorite. Lavina is survived by two sons; Hollis (Joanne) Heiden, and Kenneth (Lauraine) Heiden all of Rushford, MN., twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters Minnie (Walter) Hughes, Houston, MN and Lillian Spencer of Winona, MN., and many nieces and nephews. Lavina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elmer on May 9, 1997, one brother-in-law Ed Spencer. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Hoff Funeral Homes-Rushford Chapel with Rev.'s Dennis Heiden and Douglas Heuiser officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday at Hoff Funeral Homes-Rushford Chapel and one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Winona.
