Lauri Lynn Johnston Richert

June 25, 1960 — January 29, 2024

St. Charles

Lauri Lynn Johnston Richert was born on June 25, 1960, in Springfield, Minnesota to Kenneth and Ellen Richert. She graduated from Springfield Public High School in 1978, where she was involved in a variety of activities, including 4-H, drama, choir, and was crowned Springfield Junior Miss. Lauri graduated from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and political science. She later furthered her education by earning her MBA from Winona State University.

Upon graduation, Lauri was employed by the Internal Revenue Service as an auditor, then transitioned into nursing home administration where she was the administrator of the Good Shephard Lutheran Nursing Home in Rushford, MN. In 1999, Lauri joined her husband and expanded their family-run accounting and tax preparation service, AG Management Service.

On October 2, 1982, Lauri married her high school sweetheart, Timothy Johnston. Following their wedding, they resided for a short time in Prescott, WI and Plainview, MN and in 1991, they moved to St. Charles, MN where they have resided since. Lauri and Tim welcomed their first son, Taylor, in 1996 and their second son, Hunter, in 1999.

Lauri had many interests including camping, fishing, golfing, card playing, and attending concerts but most of all she enjoyed just spending time with her family and friends. She was always surrounding herself with people, took enjoyment in whatever she was doing, and found ways to make people laugh with her stories and exuberant personality.

Lauri is survived by her husband Timothy, sons Taylor (27) and Hunter (25); brother James Richert of Comfrey, MN; sisters Katie (Chris) Romnes of Hayward, WI, and Molly (Jason) Schuneman of Coon Rapids, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Ellen Richert; in-laws, Robert and Delores Johnston; grandparents, Robert and Rose Richert, and Clifford and Alice Colburn.
