RUSHFORD, MINN. - Laurence T. "Windy" Laumb, 82, of Vinegar Hill, East of Rushford, died Monday, May 24, 2004 at his home. He was born on November 30, 1921, in Houston, Minn. to Ole and Inga (Laugen) Laumb. He lived in the Rushford area all of his life. On May 15, 1948, he married Milda Runge in Hart, Minnesota. He farmed for many years and worked at Tri-County Electric, Earls Sales and Service and Farmers Elevator. He was a member of the Money Creek Town Board and St. Marks Lutheran Church where he was the last living charter member. He enjoyed deer hunting, horses, and visiting his friends (the do-little club) at Stumpy's. He is survived by three sons: Herman (Melanie) Laumb, LaVerne (Tami) Laumb, and Wesley Laumb, all of rural Houston; three daughters: Helen (Kenneth) Jacobson of rural Peterson, Minn., Dorothy (Joe) Himlie of Rushford, and LaVonne (Larry) Reps of Lewiston, Minn. 19 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; one brother: Irvin (Marie) Laumb of Black, Missouri; and one sister: Doris Lawrenz of St. Charles, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, George and Ray, three sisters, Inger, Anna, and Velma, and one grandson, Darren Reps. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 29, at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Rushford with the Rev. Douglas Heiuser officiating. Burial will be at the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. The family prefers memorials to be directed to St. Marks Lutheran Church.
