Laura Kirby-Mueller, 51, of St. Charles, died Sunday, October 2, 2011, surrounded by family at her home.She was born September 13, 1960, in Le Sueur to Neil and Mary (O'Brien) Tellijohn. Laura graduated with the class of 1979 from Owatonna High School, and then attended the College of St. Theresa for a degree in Music Therapy. Years following, she lived in Blooming Prairie, where she co-owned a flower and gift shop, called A Touch of Charm. Laura quickly became an avid member of the church and community, making many dear friends along the way. After moving to St. Charles she found herself in a similar situation, owning a gift and coffee shop, called Gatherings & Gifts. As always, Laura was a fierce advocate for her community and everyone in it. She was extremely involved with her church, arts and music, the youth, and so many other wonderful groups and activities within St. Charles. Her infectious laughter, talents, creativity, and giving spirit were true gifts to those who surrounded her. Laura was deeply devoted to a lifetime of service for her family, friends, church, and community. She also enjoyed a good bargain, gardening, and music.Laura is survived by her loving husband, Gary Mueller; children, Erin , Bridget, and Shane Kirby, and Francis and Laura Mueller; father, Neil Tellijohn; siblings, Lisa Tellijohn, Joni Oeltjenbruns, Juli Chapman, Kris Tellijohn, Pete Tellijohn, and Dan Tellijohn; and many loved in-laws, nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and dear friends.A visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Thursday, October 6th, 2011 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service in St. Charles and also one hour prior to the service at church. Funeral service will be at 11am on Friday, October 7th, 2011 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Following the service, per Laura's request, please join family and friends for ice-cream sundaes, root beer floats, and Christmas music.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Laura Kirby-Mueller Memorial Fund. Donations will be used to continue and support her work with music, arts, and youth within the St. Charles community. A cause she held very close to her heart.
