Larry Jon Lobland, 55, of Chatfield, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, of cancer at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, where he had been for three weeks.
Larry was born March 22, 1958, in Preston, to Jimmie and Evelyn (Haugstad) Lobland. He graduated from Chosen Valley High School in 1976. Larry joined the U.S. Air Force from 1978-1980 and was stationed in Texas and Japan. He married Kristi Kraling, and they later divorced. Larry was a Markham Products Distributor (hair products).
He attended Pilot Mound Lutheran Church.
Larry enjoyed music, motorcycle trips, especially trips to the Black Hills, and family get-togethers.
He is survived by his three brothers, Jim (Barbro) Lobland, of Las Vegas, Nev., Jerry (Betty) Lobland, of Rochester, and Terry (Suzi) Lobland, of Rochester; nieces and nephews, Tammy Toth, Jackie Lobland, Jenny Lobland, Cynthia Mussmann, Jeffrey Lobland, Cathryn Williams, Joel Lobland, Jon Lobland and Sarah Johnson; and 14 great-nieces and -nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Pilot Mound Lutheran Church, with Pastors Alice Applequist and Ronald and Janet Warnes officiating. Burial will be in Pilot Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
