Larry James Vetsch, 68 of Winona, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016 surrounded by his family at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse after a short, but brave, battle with cancer.
Larry was born April 2, 1947 in La Crosse to Harold and Dorothy (Mowatt) Vetsch. He grew up in La Crescent and graduated from Logan High School in La Crosse in 1965. On October 21, 1967, he married the love of his life, JoAnn Rymarkiewicz. Larry worked at Gateway Transportation, Lake Center Industries and Riverside Electronics where he worked until his retirement in 2012.
Larry loved spending time outdoors. In his younger years, he spent a lot of time hunting but more recently was happy to be doing anything outside. Larry's grandchildren were his number one priority; he loved spending time with them and attending all of their school and sports events.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; one son, Jon (Donna) Vetsch of Trempealeau; one daughter, Jodi (Dan) Mueller of Winona; four grandchildren, MaKenna & Ryan Vetsch and Ella & Erika Mueller; one sister, Nancy (Hank) Rollinger of Minnesota City; and many extended family and friends.
Memorial Service will be 3 p.m., Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center - Goodview with the Reverend Wade Davick officiating. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until the time of service.
