L. Russell Cravath

The funeral for L. Russell Cravath of rural Chatfield will be held at the Dover United Methodist Church at 11 AM on Thursday June 30th with the Rev. Sharon Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Saratoga Cemetery, rural St. Charles. Mr. Cravath, 90, died of a stroke on Monday June 27, 2005, one month short of his 91st birthday. He was born July 26, 1914 on the Cravath family home in Elmira Township of Olmsted County, the son of John Ferrier Cravath and Mary Jane Jackson Cravath. He married Edwyna Messerschmidt on June 24, 1944. Mr. Cravath retired from farming in 1963. He owned and operated a tour bus service for 10 years and worked in sales. He is survived by his wife Edwyna and two sons, Paul of Honolulu and Jon (Linda Nelson) of Rochester. He was preceded in death by a son Terry and four brothers. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home's - St. Charles Chapel. They may also call one hour before services at the church on Thursday.
