Kyle Schiltz, 35, of Sauk Centre MN and formerly of Winona; died Wednesday April 5th, 2017.
Kyle was born August 20th, 1981, in Winona, to Gina Kreidermacher and Dave Schiltz. He attended WACS and graduated from Cotter High School, in 1999.
Kyle worked at various Group Homes in La Crosse and the Twin Cities; caring for people with special needs. Kyle was also involved in permaculture, gardening; with his life focused on the simple things.
Kyle became aware of Camphill, a special community of ~ 50 people north of Sauk Centre. The mission of Camphill is to create and sustain a community where people with and without disabilities live, work and care for each other to foster social, spiritual, cultural and agricultural renewal. Kyle moved to Camphill, in July of 2015, and allowed him to live with special needs people, in a new way. Camphill provided Kyle with the opportunity to combine his passions in life of working with others and his love of being one with the earth.
Kyle is survived by his mother, Gina, (Gerald) Kreidermacher; father, Dave (Sandy) Schiltz; brother, Dustin Schiltz, Dustin's fiance, Christy Malenke and her daughter, Ella; sisters, Breanna Kreidermacher (Barry Nelson); Erica (Dan) Thomsen; Sara Grandy (Brian Holtberg); grandmother Dolores Kreidermacher, grandfather, Jim Schlegel; godparents: Al Schiltz and Sherrie Evans. Special friends, Betsy Brennan and Kristi Jacob. Many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins too numerous to mention.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Vern Rice, Myrel and Angie Schiltz, Jack Kreidermacher, Angie Schlegel; aunt Donna Hammes, uncle Ron Schiltz and cousin Rachel Nelson. Also a dear friend, Izzy the Cat.
Kyle taught us so much, not only about the world but about ourselves... He had such a good way about putting things into perspective. Something that really challenged Kyle, is how ugly people can be to each other... It was hard to watch the news with him because the things most people learn to deal with and then move on with their lives was not as easy for him... The ugly things that we all see and learn to ignore every day is something that constantly ate him up... If there is anything Kyle would want out of all of us it would be to just be kind to everyone.. Do your part to make the world around you better. That is truly all he ever cared about.... We lost a true friend, and a piece of ourselves that we can never replace...
