Rushford, Minn. - Kerry L. Snyder, 58, of Rushford died on Monday, February 18, 2008, at his home. Kerry was born on November 13, 1949, in LaCrosse, Wis. to Ted and Dawn (Tichenor) Snyder. He was raised in Onalaska, Wis. until the eighth grade when his family moved to Peterson, Minn. He was a 1967, graduate of Peterson High School. He attended Winona State University. Kerry served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Mary Ann Johnson in Rushford. They were later divorced. Kerry worked for the Trane Co. in Lacrosse. He later started his own business in Rushford, Woodstock Millwork, where he did custom carpentry work. In 2002, he moved to Hawaii. Kerry lived and worked in Hawaii doing security and carpentry work until the fall of 2007, when he moved back to Rushford. Kerry was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper. He also enjoyed writing and playing music, artwork, and sports. Kerry is survived by his mother: Dawn Snyder of Winona, Minn.; three daughters: Jennifer Snyder of Money Creek, Minn., Leah Snyder of Chicago, Ill., and Amber Snyder of Rushford, Minn.; two grandchildren: Damon and Bowen; one brother, Tim Snyder of Spring Grove, Minn.; one sister Kathy Snyder of Kihei, Hawaii; and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel with the Rev. Daryl Thompson officiating. Following the funeral service Kerry's body will be cremated. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
