Kenneth A. Chapel, 90, of Houston, died Sunday, January 22, 2006, at the Valley View Nursing Home in Houston. He was born on January 2, 1916, in Rushford Village of Fillmore County, Minn. to Charles and Mabel (McLeod) Chapel. He was raised in Money Creek and graduated from Houston High School. He married Dorothy "Dollie" Coulson. Kenneth farmed all of his life in Campbell Valley near Money Creek. He served as a fire warden and was a member of the Houston - Money Creek Coop Creamery Board. Kenneth's interests included playing softball, fishing, hunting, and spending winters in Texas with Dollie. He also was a C.B. Radio enthusiast who was known as the Minnesota Cattleman. Kenneth was a long time cancer survivor, thanks to the expertise of the doctors and the experimental medication he received at the Mayo Clinic. Kenneth is survived by three sons: Charles (Donna) Chapel of Houston, Victor Chapel of Brainerd, Minn., and Kenneth M. Chapel of Redwood City, Cal.; two daughters: Kathryn (Mark) Witt, and Marion (Richard) Nelson both of Houston; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, at Money Creek United Methodist Church in Money Creek, Minn. with Pastor Fauntie Wilcoxon officiating. Burial will be in the Money Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Homes Houston Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
