Keith Leonard Haag, 58 of Winona, died battling cancer on Monday, January 18, 2016 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, surrounded by his family.
Keith was born July 5, 1957 in Winona to George and Rita (Mueller) Haag. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1976. He farmed for Scott and Jeanie Kreidermacher. Then worked for a local turkey farm for many years before beginning his career in maintenance at Winona State University - Rochester Campus and later transferring to the Winona Campus. He was a member of St. Casimir's Catholic Church and the Lewiston Cancer Support Group.
Keith enjoyed fishing, farming, motorcycles, walking his dogs and most importantly spending time with his family and friends. Keith will be remembered for his kindness, thoughtfulness, courage and humor and of course his signature smile that was so contagious. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his parents, George and Rita Haag of Altura; siblings, Nick (Alice) Haag of Lewiston, Karen (Chuck) Ramin of Goodview, Dale (Becky Henry) Haag of Dover, Diane (Keith) Shones of Millville Roy (Shelley) Haag of Chatfield, Roger (Brenda) Haag of Utica, Cheryl (Jay) Bowe of Lewiston, Curt (Jodi) Haag of Lewiston, Gail (Scott) Fitzgerald of Houston, Glen (Tammy) Haag of Lewiston, Peter (Stacey) Haag of St. Charles, Paula (Shane) Matzke of Lewiston, Tessa (John) Fritts of Winona and Terri (Trevor) Prigge of Winona; 43 nieces and nephews, 25 great-nieces and great-nephews; and Phillip and Tyler who were close to his heart.
Keith was preceded in death by an infant sister, Nancy; an infant brother; nephew, Owen Fitzgerald and his 2 beloved dogs, Tella and Ice.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Thursday, January 28, 2016 at St. Casimir's Catholic Church with the Reverend Monsignor Richard Colletti officiating. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Wednesday at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview and one hour prior to the mass at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used to pay it forward in Keith's memory.
