Kathryn Dawn Gudmundson

Kathryn "Kathi" Dawn Gudmundson, 62, of Rushford, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in her home.Kathi was born April 24, 1950 in Lanesboro to Siebert and June (Boyum) Gudmundson. She graduated from Peterson High School in 1968. In 1979, she began her career at Winona State University, where she earned an Associate of Arts Degree on March 1, 1982. After her retirement in 2007 as the Staff Development Coordinator in Technology Learning and Technology Services at Winona State, Kathi enjoyed scrapbooking, antiquing, biking, and socializing with friends. On Tuesday morning, Kathi was appointed to the Grandparents' University Committee by the Retiree Advisory Board at WSU. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and only daughter, Jeni. Kathi will be missed more than words can express. She was a beautiful woman and a true and dear friend.She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Chad) Breaker of Lake Mills, WI; grandchildren, Katrina and Alex Breaker; siblings, Stan (Unchalee) Gudmundson of Rushford, Don (Merry) Gudmundson of Lakeville, Renee (Verdon) Hasleiet of Rochester, Val (Mary) Gudmundson of Rushford, and Scott (Linda) Gudmundson of Becker; step-mother, Martha Ferden; step-sister, Ann (Charles) Austad of Bemidji; and her loving extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Kathi is preceded in death by her parents.Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service-Hansen Goodview Chapel and also one hour prior to the service at church. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 13 at Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson with the Reverends Ronald and Janet Warnes officiating.
