ALTURA, MINN. - Kathleen M. Potter, 48, of Altura died Saturday, July 16, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Kathleen was born on July 2, 1957, in Winona, Minn. to Gene and Fern (Sanders) Ihrke. She was raised in rural Altura and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1975. On June 18, 1977, she married John Potter in Bethany, Minn. Kathleen worked as a chiropractor's assistant in Rochester, Minn. She then stayed at home to raise her four children and later worked at the Altura State Bank until 1993. Kathleen was a member of Our Saviors Moravian Church in Altura. She was an avid bowler and was a member of the Norton Night Owls homemakers group. Kathleen was a very loving wife and mother. She is survived by her husband, John; parents, Gene and Fern Ihrke, of Altura; four children: Rebecca Potter of Rochester, Kristi Potter, Cory Potter and Marc Potter, all of Altura; two brothers: Don (Linda) Ihrke of Rollingstone, Minn. and Clair (Geri) Ihrke of Dover, Minn.; two sisters: Debra (Rod) Morcomb of Rushford and Nancy (Dale) Kieffer of Dover, Minn. Kathleen was preceded in death by her grandparents and one infant brother. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, at Our Saviors Moravian Church in Altura with the Rev. Dave Sobek officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Our Saviors Moravian Church and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday also at the church. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles, Minn. Hoff Funeral Homes - St. Charles Chapel is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
