Karie Sue Connaughty, 49, of Winona, Minnesota, passed away early Thursday morning, November 16, 2017. Born March 21, 1968 in Winona, MN, she was the third child of Jim and Kathy Connaughty. She is survived by her parents Jim and Kathy Connaughty of Winona; two sons Andrew Connaughty of Winona; Kyle Limestahl (Emaly Sauers) of Rochester; brother Todd Connaughty (Scott Smith) of Minneapolis; sister Heidi Poolo (Jason Stevens) of Winona. She is preceded in death by her son Jason Limestahl and her brother Scott Connaughty. Karie has been a resident of Winona since childhood. She was very active in many volunteer groups and devoted many hours to helping others. She was known for always having a positive attitude and a helping hand for anyone that needed one. Karie enjoyed spending as much time with family and friends as she could and she was a true lover of animals, especially her cat, Mittens. Above all, she will be remembered by family and friends alike as being selfless, big-hearted, magnanimous, and positive. She was a wonderful and very proud mother, sister, daughter, and friend. There will truly be a void in this world without her. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-5 p.m., Friday, November 24, 2017 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center with a Service of Remembrance starting at 5 p.m.
